Two-Edged Sword
February 10, 2010
“When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me” (Psalm 56:9).
PRAY THE SCRIPTURES
Hebrews 4:12 tells us the Bible is a ‘living’ document and is stronger than any ‘two-edged sword.’
In today’s language it means that the Bible is relevant to any need we face, and is more powerful than any nuclear weapon available today. So let’s pray the scriptures and apply them in faith to today’s needs.
Also, according to author Joel Rosenberg, Iran president Ahmadinijad has threatened to unleash a harsh attack on February 11 to punish others for their ‘global arrogance.’ President Obama has ordered our armed forces to beef up security in the region.
1. Let’s pray for ourselves
“As for me, I will call upon God. And the Lord shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray and cry aloud. And He shall hear my voice” Psalms 55:16-17.
2. Let’s pray for our nation
“Oh God, You have cast us off; You have broken us down; You have been displeased. Oh, restore us again! You have made the earth tremble; You have broken it; Heal its breaches, for it is shaking…. Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Through our God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies” (Psalm 60:1-2, 11-12).
3. Let’s pray for the global advance of the gospel
“Come behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10).
Your prayers are making a difference. Keep the faith!
“Put my tears into Your bottle, are they not in Your book? When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back, this I know, because God is for me” (Psalm 56:8).
